Meet the 16 candidates who are interested in becoming the next Illinois State Representative for the 35th District. On Tuesday, March 28, the 19th Ward Democratic Organization will host three public meetings via Zoom to complete the selection process and fill the vacancy left when Fran Hurley resigned from the position last month.
The candidates will take part in back-to-back Zoom forums, beginning with eight candidates presenting from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. The remaining eight candidates will participate in a forum from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
At 5:00 pm, a group of local Committeepersons from the Democratic Party, the political party of the outgoing legislator, will hold a public meeting to review the candidates in executive session. They will take a vote and announce their appointment to the public.
